Bio:

Full Name: Nymphadora "Call me Dora and Die" ~~Black~~ Tonks.
Nicknames: Tonks, but her fellow Aurors in MLE better know her by "that girl that totally tried to set Scrimgeour's hair on fire." Her immediate family has taken to calling her Dora, she figures it's at least better than the alternative.
Date of Birth: 1973
Age: 22
House and Year: Hufflepuff, 1984-1991
Wand: Ash, 9". Broken in four places and held together with peeling but brightly coloured tape. Tip slightly crooked.
Classes: N/A, but in her years Tonks excelled in Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts while she.. excelled in avoiding everything else. (At least until she made the grim, grim realisation that despite everything, potential Aurors did so require the ability to differentiate between a paralyzing potion and a mustache growing one.)
Bloodline: The way Tonks talks would lead one to believe she was a through and through muggleborn. Her mother's side is something she resents fervently and thoroughly, to the point that her chosen form is one that stands in direct defiance of her naturally inherited looks. The black hair, the grey eyes and the fine and elegant features of the Black bloodline are hidden very tightly under brightly coloured hair, dark eyes and round features in an arrogant display of rebellion only Tonks knows about. (Or, at least, they were until strict MLE standards started knocking down on Lizard Green hair.) Tonks will never, ever speak of her mother's family, but will talk often about strange anecdotes from the muggle side she barely knew with pride in her eyes nonetheless. The only exception is her mother's cousin Sirius whom Tonks adores and relates to, considering the fellow exile and ex-marauder prankster a kind of kindred spirit, but she barely considers him a Black anyway.

Appearance:

Tonks has a slim but powerful build and a wiry kind of strength that doesn't rely on size, rather agility. Due to MLE regulation cracking down on brightly coloured hair after a particularly glow-in-the-dark hue of yellow ended up giving away her location while staking out the errant miscreant trolls, Tonks has settled for a more down to earth colouration with darker hair and dark grey eyes that match her mother's cousin's. In terms of dress, Tonks is at an absolute loss. Her style is Picked-Off-The-Bedroom-Floor chic, and even if Tonks were a clothes-shopping woman, everything she owns eventually winds up torn and ragged due to her constant fight with gravity, the floor, tables, chairs and generally anything that can be tripped over. Due to this, some people mistake her look for a 'punk' or 'alternative' style when in reality Tonks wouldn't know one style from the other if it hit her in the face. If something she owns is ripped it's not artfully or stylistically ripped, it's just ripped.

History:

- Born Nymphadora Black Tonks on the night of November 23, 1973, to parents Andromeda and Ted Tonks, living in exile in muggle lands after her mother's family disowned her and in fear of anyone seeking a more confrontational approach to what had been considered Andromeda's 'disobedience.'

- Brought up in muggle surroundings to evade those who would otherwise have harm come down on the halfblood Black, albeit under constant watch due to her special.. Abilities.

- A clumsy, troublesome and mischief-happy Hufflepuff with a penchant for pranks and mayhem. Friend of Gryffindors Bill and Charlie Weasley.

- 4th year saw a bit of a change in the girl. With her mother's sister in Azkaban, Tonks, a headstrong and almost arrogant teenager, decided to prove anyone wrong who wondered if some Black genes had made their way into the girl. With a love for adventure, excitement and a head full of war stories about the glory of the old Order of the Phoenix, Tonks devoted herself to her studies with the set goal of one day becoming an Auror.

-This by no means meant that she left her penchant for mischief.

- In her fifth year, Sprout was quick to give the girl a long lecture on why would-be-Aurors didn't change a Ravenclaw's hair Black and Yellow during a Quidditch match against Hufflepuff.

- 'Covered in Bees' does not a house slogan make.

- All traffic warning signs did not belong in the Hufflepuff main room, no matter how fitting their colours may be.

- Tonks instantly took to her training as an Auror. She enjoyed the grueling tasks it brought, seeing it as a challenge, and a taste of adventure and things to come. Ever the Hufflepuff, Tonks took to her fellow trainee Aurors as a kind of make-do family, never forgetting that one day, these could be the people whose life she would depend on.

- This by no means meant that she left her penchant for mischief.

- Her late teens and early twenties saw a rebellious streak in the girl. And while she worked hard to be an Auror, she never took her job entirely seriously. Showing up for cases in ducky covered pyjamas and bunny slippers when they took place in the night or early morning and took her from bed, and once a bath robe when she'd been called away right after a shower, Tonks had to work hard to make up for her cheekiness. Even still, much to her dismay, Tonks found herself often shunned into a desk job due to her irreverence. Her love for the field won out in the end, but she still liked to sneak in a cheeky comment and prank when the situation arose. The situation, mysteriously, tended to arise often.

- Like when mysterious posters popped up all over MLE with the faces of her superior officers in War Criminal posters.

- Officers getting mysteriously reported for things such as 'malicious use of a git-filled personality' and 'gross acts of being a twit.'

- Office Owls being trained in an 'Attack Command.'

- And so on.

Personality:

Fun, silly and courageous.

Obnoxious, arrogant and stubborn.

Tonks has, at her roots, a resilient, feisty personality. Above all things she is passionate. It spurns her forward. It is her passion that makes her into the Auror she is, powerful and driven, faithful to her people until the very end. A fighter at heart, Tonks enjoys the thrills of a good fight and doing what she thinks is right. However, what she thinks is right isn't always necessarily so, moreso when she acts on impulse. She will seek out those she thinks need to be stopped and will know no bounds in doing so, not always a good quality to have.

Tonks defines herself by her position as an Auror and takes the responsibilities of MLE to heart, even if she doesn't always take them seriously. Ever the Hufflepuff, she has a fierce sense of loyalty to her fellow Aurors and what they stand for and will fight for them to the very end.

Much like her beloved cousin Sirius, Tonks is a prankster at heart and in love with a good joke. Always up to somekind of mischief, Tonks will do anything for a good laugh.

Strengths and Weaknesses:

Tonks is a genuinely good humoured person who enjoys making others laugh and making the best of a situation when she can, never coming short of a joke or snappy reply. A proud Hufflepuff she is fiercely loyal to both those considers close and to her ideals, ideals that were formed in the wake of a war that nearly tore the Wizarding world apart. She is an absolutely devoted Auror and takes MLE's word as scripture, always ready to fight for the Ministry and everything it stands for.

In terms of weaknesses, Tonks has quite a bevy of them. It is ironic then in the exiled Not-Black and Auror that it's pure arrogance that stands out amongst Tonks' flaws. Much like her older cousin, Tonks shows this arrogance in a fool hardy and devil-may-care attitude that constantly leads her to mouth off when she shouldn't and to people she really, really shouldn't be mouthing off to. In canon, Tonks also showed she was (arguably) a bit weak hearted, driven mad by her passion and even dying for it. While this game makes it easy to avoid that pitfall, her emotional nature truly is one that cannot be avoided. Tonks is passionate, and because of it everything is intensified five fold. Not having grown up in a world with the constant threat of Death Eaters, Tonks' loathe is aimed at the vestiges of the old Pureblood society that had rejected her mother and threatened people like her father. It could be argued she is just as fanatical in her trust and bond to the Aurors and the memory of the old Order that the Death Eaters once so long ago had been in their ties to their Lord.

Habits\Quirks:

Due to being in a constantly shapeshifted form, there is a heavy toll on Tonk's body that drains her of energy quickly. To make up for this, Tonks has developed a downright ferocious appetite and has driven many a deli shop and luncheon to bankruptcy or madness.

While she can change form seamlessly at will, Tonks' abilities are not all powerful. Enchanted mirrors, and even some regular ones, will always show her true form. Due to this (and Tonks' own loathe of her natural form) there are no mirrors in Tonks' own flat and she will go to great lengths to avoid reflective surfaces as a whole.
